The Sworn is Written!

March 8, 2010

The Sworn: Book One in The Fallen Kings Cycle, the next book in the adventures of Tris Drayke and Jonmarc Vahanian, is written! I turned in the manuscript to Orbit Books and am awaiting edits. The book is due out to stores in early 2011.

Dark Lady’s Chosen Tour—I will be at the Arizona Renaissance Festival Mar. 13 – 14 as the guest author—look for me by the bookstore this year in the festival grounds. Then Mar. 19 – 21, I’ll be at Lunacon in White Plains, NY. I’ll be doing a signing at the Barnes & Noble at the Arboretum in Charlotte, NC on Mar. 27, and then I take a break for a while until Balticon at the end of May. Then I’ll be at ConCarolinas the first week in June, and at Confluence in Pittsburgh in July, plus DragonCon Labor Day Weekend.

Brand new book video for Dark Haven and Dark Lady’s Chosen! I’m so excited about how this new video turned out—take a look and please pass it along to your friends! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSA_AtViDzY

Con recap: I had a great time at SheVaCon in Roanoke, VA. You can see the video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jA8MUeUNfNI I was on about eight panels and had a wonderful time talking about vampires, ghosts, B movies and more. Also saw the always-gracious Kevin J. Anderson, whom I had interviewed for the GhostInTheMachinePodcast.com.

StellarCon was a brief visit due to a programming glitch that only put me on Sunday Panels, but I was on a podcasting panel with Podcasting’s Rich Sigfrit, on a Digital Publishing panel with Mike Stackpole and Toni Weisskopf, and on a Horror panel with two of the actors from Cabin Fever.

Due to scheduling conflicts, I won’t be able to be at Ravencon this year as previously announced. It’s one of my favorite cons and I will miss everyone. I hope they will ask me to return next year. The date change for this year’s con caught me by surprise.

Short Story in a new anthology! My very first short story will be published in the Rum and Runestones anthology coming in April from Dragon Moon Press. Rum and Runestones will have launch parties at Ravencon, Balticon and Con Carolinas, so be sure to stop by and check it out. There’s no link online yet, but watch for it at Dragon Moon Press.

If you’ve read Dark Lady’s Chosen, please help me get the word out! Please consider adding a comment to your favorite online bookstore, mentioning the book on Facebook, Twitter or whatever forums you frequent, or writing a review on your blog. I really appreciate it! Thanks so everyone who’s given the book a shout since it’s launched.
