Countdown to The Blood King

January 8, 2008

Happy New Year!

Not long now until The Blood King is in stores! I’m
hearing from the folks at Solaris that we’re on track for
the Feb. 1 launch, so be on the lookout.

Lots going on! I’ve booked ten signings or events in
February, plus more coming up in March. We’ve got some
great new giveaways going with FantasyBookCritic and
SFSignal.com. And I’ll be back on the radio soon with
Today’s Author, Haunted Voices and X-Zone, with more to
come.

Instead of a weeklong tour, this year I’m doing more
conventions and Renaissance Festivals. I’ve just been
booked for the Phoenix Renaissance Festival March 8-9, and
been invited back to the Carolinas Renaissance Festival in
October. And I’ll be at RavenCon in Richmond, BaltiCon in
Baltimore and ConCarolinas in Charlotte as a guest. I’ll
also be at DragonCon as an attendee, but very willing to
connect with readers over coffee if there’s a group going
that wants to get together. (Check out the details on the
events page on the website.)

Now that the holidays are over, I’ll be posting new Ghost
in the Machine podcasts more frequently. Be sure to check
out the newest one with Chris Jackson, author of Death
Mask, on necromancers.

I’ve finished the first draft of book 3, tentatively titled
Dark Haven. Still a long way from where it’ll end up in
April when I turn it in, but coming along nicely.

There will be more online and radio interviews coming, so
if you have a question, please email me. I’d love to
include answers to your questions! Questions can be about
The Summoner, The Blood King, the world of the Winter
Kingdoms or the characters. So email me and let me know
what you’ve been wondering about!
