Here's the news on The Summoner for October

October 18, 2007

Sorry to be away from the newsletter for a while, but I
needed to catch up with myself. Lots going on!

The Blood King is in its final stages before it goes to
press. That's exciting. If you haven't read the newest
excerpt on the Solaris Books site, please take a look!
Please also check out the book video on YouTube if you
haven't seen it already and pass it along to your friends.
I was thrilled that my book video make a top 10 list on
Publishers' Weekly's blog.

On the site, I've got a new audio update plus some upcoming
events. Oct. 20-21 and 27-29 I'll be signing at the
Carolina Renaissance Festival, and on Nov. 1 I'll be
speaking at the eWomenNetwork luncheon in Winston-Salem,
then signing at the Barnes and Noble and Borders in
Winston-Salem. Details are on my site and on BookTour.com.
I've got new profiles up on The Yack and on
BookMarket.ning.com. I'll also be signing on Nov. 15 at
the University City Library in North Charlotte.

I'm deep into writing book 3 and having a lot of fun with
it. It's coming along, although it has a long way to go.
The great news is that the folks at Solaris are already
starting to think about the covers for books 3 and 4--I
can't wait to see what they come up with!

There are a lot of fun podcasts coming up. My newest one
is with fellow Solaris author Chris Roberson, but I've
recorded other new podcasts that will be posted over the
next few weeks. Chris Jackson and I talked about
necromancers, Tony Ruggiero and I talked about vampires and
conspiracy theories, Angela Knight and I talked about
vampires and erotic romance, Ed Schubert and I talked about
how both novels and short stories add to the SF/F
community, and Pam Coble and I will be talking about
Southern ghost stories. Stay tuned!
