Back From The Dead
April 24, 2007
You can think of this as the vayash moru issue of Necromancer News, because it's been dead for a while and now it's back! (I have a good excuse--finishing the manuscript for Book 2, trying to get the word out about The Summoner far and wide, that kind of thing!) Lots of news! We have a new title for Book 2! Book 2 is now officially named "The Blood King." We've been referring to it as The Summoner Returns, which was a working title. So now it's official--watch for promotion and news about The Blood King! I turned the manuscript in at the beginning of April. There's a lot of work to be done for it to come out in stores in January. I will be on KBS radio in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on Monday morning, 4/24 at 8:40 local time. We'll be talking about The Summoner and dealing with your personal ghosts. Tune in! We're in the news! The Summoner has had some nice Internet coverage of late, along with newspaper items in the Charlotte Business Journal and an upcoming piece in my hometown newspaper, The Meadville Tribune. I'll be posting new links for you to check things out. Please don't let the new passwords scare you off. As some folks have noted, the site was getting hit badly by spammers. To stop that, I've put the guest book and discussion pages behind passwords. The Discussion page password is--Carina. The Guest Book password is--Jonmarc. Please continue to drop by and chat! I've been pleased and surprised to hear from U.S. soldiers in the Gulf who are reading The Summoner. Most are receiving the book from friends and family back home, but at least one soldier picked it up from the PX in Kuwait! The Summoner Movie? Well, not quite. But close! I'm working with Circle of Seven Productions on a book video--sort of like a music video for a book. It will be under 1 minute, but the clip will convey the "feel" of both The Summoner and The Blood King. We're expecting to have it completed in time for DragonCon in September, and it will also go up on YouTube and other sites, as well as on my web site, my MySpace page and the Solaris Books site. So stay tuned for details! New on Ghost in the Machine Jeffrey Thomas (Deadstock) will be chatting with me this week, and I'll post a link and an MP3 download once we finish. The current chat with James Maxey will also be available by MP3 link. Jeffrey and I will be talking about why SF tends to see a dark future, while Fantasy tends to romanticize an often bloody past. Who's next? Natasha Rhodes (Dante's Girl) has agreed to chat with me, as have psychic Jodi Lynnae, author Gina Farago (Ivy Cole and the Moon--werewolves), and some others coming up. Watch for new content on the site, including some details you didn't know before on major characters. This is THE site for news about the world of The Winter Kingdoms. Thank you so much for sharing in my world. Please stay in touch.
